It is perfectly normal to see multiple expiration dates for the D$ in your account. This happens because the "lifespan" of your DISCOVERY Dollars is determined by how they were earned and your membership tier at that time.
Here are the two main reasons for varying dates:
1. Tier-Based Validity
When you earn D$ through a hotel stay, their expiration date is set based on your membership tier on the day they were issued:
Silver: 12 months
Gold: 18 months
Platinum: 24 months
Titanium: 24 months
2. Promotional D$
D$ earned through special promotions often have shorter, fixed expiration periods regardless of your tier. For example, the current D$5 App Booking Bonus (available through June 30, 2026) typically expires 6 months from the date of issuance.
How We Protect Your Balance
To make sure you don't lose your rewards, our system follows a "First-In, First-Out" rule. When you redeem D$ for a stay or a meal, we automatically use the D$ with the earliest expiration date first.
Pro Tip: You can see a detailed breakdown of your expiring rewards by clicking on your D$ balance in the GHA DISCOVERY app. We recommend planning a "Staycation" or a "Local Offer" (like a pool or spa day) to use any D$ that are approaching their expiry!
